Chinese New Year, Gerrard Street, Chinatown, London, January 2012
The decorations are back in Chinatown ahead of the Chinese New Year on 23 January 2012. As well as the Chinese lanterns around Gerrard Street, there is plenty of food including highly-decorated cakes.

Covent Garden in the evening
Even in December with all the Christmas shoppers, it can be difficult at times for a busker to attract a crowd. I guess they are too busy shopping to have time for buskers and it was a bit cold at the time. The Christmas decorations were good.

Topical 2010 Christmas lights from House of Fraser, Oxford St,
Lights in the form of snow flakes on the House of Fraser store on Oxford Street prove topical in the current weather. The umbrella and the boxes are part of the street decorations.
For other pictures of Christmas lights, see my 2010 Xmas pictures on Flickr.
